Why I Created Influxious: Fragrance as a Form of Presence

I’ve always believed fragrance is about more than smelling good.

Long before Influxious existed, scent was already part of how I understood identity, memory, and emotion. Growing up, I learned early that who we are is shaped by many influences at once; culture, environment, family, experience, language, movement. None of it exists separately. It all lives together inside us.

For me, fragrance became the most powerful way to carry those layers forward.

Invisible, but deeply felt.

When I created Influxious, I wanted to build more than a fragrance brand. I wanted to create a modern fragrance house grounded in cultural depth and intentional expression: one that treated scent not just as beauty, but as presence.

The way we choose to show up matters.

Some days, fragrance is comfort. Other days, confidence. Sometimes it’s softness, warmth, boldness, nostalgia, ease. The ritual of choosing a scent can become a way of shaping energy before you walk into a room, start a conversation, or move through the world.

That idea sits at the center of Influxious.

Each fragrance is designed as a different state of being: an invitation to explore the many dimensions of yourself through scent. From warm and skin-like to radiant and magnetic, every fragrance carries emotion, texture, and intention.

Heritage also plays an important role in how we create.

Many of our fragrances incorporate ingredients and inspirations connected to African culture and global influence; not as trends, but as part of lived experience. At Influxious, cultural richness is never something to minimize or dilute. It’s creative fuel.

Luxury, to me, should feel personal.

It should feel expressive. Human. Emotional. Something you return to because it feels like you.

That’s what Influxious is about.

Not becoming someone else: but expressing yourself more fully.
